Human-AI Collaboration Model

An interactive visualization exploring when humans should lead, collaborate with AI, or let AI take the wheel — based on research from Nature Human Behaviour (Vaccaro et al. 2024).

Why this model matters

As AI becomes embedded in how we work, one of the most important design questions is: who should be in control? The answer isn't always human, and it isn't always AI — it depends on the nature of the task.

This model visualizes three collaboration modes across real workplace scenarios: human-led decisions that require ethics and judgment, shared workflows where both parties contribute, and AI-led tasks where speed and scale dominate.

The visualization is built with React and Framer Motion. Particle flow direction and node sizes shift to reflect each mode's power dynamic — small details that reinforce the conceptual message.
