In February 2015, I taught 2 sessions of the pop-up class Ritual Design: Designing more meaningful everyday experiences at Stanford d.school. I created the class with my teaching team: myself, Defne Civelekoglu, and Margaret Hagan.
We led the class through a bootcamp on ritual design, and then facilitated their creation of new rituals for themselves and partners in the class.
The class was very popular with students & resulted in many creative new rituals. We had an anthropology professor present on how rituals offer value to individuals and society. This was meant to offer more creative juice & inspiration to the students, as they reflected on moments in their own everydays (and those of their team-mates) about what kind of creative interventions could spark the change they wanted & create sustainable rituals.
