Argus is a network management system developed for the Cylab Korea at Carnegie Mellon. In this project, I worked with Professor Hyong Kim from Carnegie Mellon’s ECE department. Argus is a next generation network security management system, aiming to address distributed network security management system for heterogeneous networks including wireless infrastructure. In ECE context, the research issues include modeling and detection of network attacks, machine learning and data mining of network data, real-time network and host monitoring, and fast response, fault isolation, and prevention of network failures. From a user experience design perspective, the challenge was to address the agency among multiple-perspectives and stakeholders in highly critical network security functionality. Below, you can see interface examples from the project.
